Are these jars truly airtight?
Yes - the jar comes with a screw-top polypropylene (PP) lid that creates a reliable airtight seal to protect contents from moisture and air.
What material is the jar made of and why is it better?
The jar body is made of 100% borosilicate glass, which is more heat-resistant (up to approximately 350 °C), scratch-resistant, non-porous, and doesn’t absorb odours or stains.
Can I use it in the microwave, freezer, oven or dishwasher?
Yes - the glass jar (without the PP lid) is safe for use in the microwave, freezer, oven, fridge and can be washed in a dishwasher. However, the PP lid is not suitable for oven or microwave heating.
What should I avoid doing so that the jar lasts well?
Do not use the PP lid in microwave/oven, avoid abrasive cleaners or metal scrubbers, and always allow rapid temperature changes to be avoided (like putting a hot jar into cold liquid suddenly) to protect the glass and seal.
Is it safe to store food for long periods?
Yes - because the glass is non-porous and the lid seals tightly, the jar prevents contamination from odours or stains, making it ideal for long-term storage of pulses, flour, grains, spices, etc.
